Jannie Balliett is a published author, freelance writer, editor, advice columnist, and founder of an Online writers workshop, teaching the novice, intermediate, and advanced writer.

She is a member of Sisters In Crime Internet Chapter, The Short Mystery Fiction Society, Brazos Writers Group, and other writer affiliations.

Jannie is currently writing a paranormal crime thriller, LEAVE A WHISPER, which she intends to make into a series. She's written a childrens book, THE TAIL THAT WAGGED THE DOG, about her grandson and his Boxer dog, Rocky, that teaches children it's okay to be different. A series is planned for Rocky and his adventures, with a lesson and moral in each story.

Her work of short stories, poetry, and flash fiction, is published in The Writers Post Journal magazine, and Whim's Place first anthology of flash stories, ON A WHIM, that will be available at Barnes & Nobles and Amazon sometime in 2008. She has revised and updated a novel, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH, which she began writing seventeen years ago, and has on the back burner for future resurrection.

She writes thrillers: paranormal crime and paranormal mysteries. She also writes short stories. Poetry is just for her personal pleasure, although published-- and some of her poetry is dark and written especially for her novel LEAVE A WHISPER.

She is chief editor for her editorial service, A1 Editorial Service, helping other writers prepare their works for submission. She specializes for the self-published writer. (Her original editorial service, Balliett Editorial Service is being phased out to A1 Editorial Service soon.)

She is also an expert in the writing books category on (profile) AllExperts.com as well as the Boxer breed category (profile) at AllExperts.com.

Texas- The Lonestar State  She's a transplanted Texan, has raised three grown Texans, and recently lost her oldest
daughter on September 12, 2007, in a horrific and tragic, car accident. She wrote a poem dedicated to her daughter. She lost a step-son in 2002, and wrote a dedicated poem that is published in the Writers Post Journal magazine. She has eight grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters. She lives in the Austin area with her female Boxer, Roxxie, who always listens without interrupting, never talks back, and critiques her work honestly, fairly, and better than anyone.
